The holy land history project

The day is January the 1st, 2024. I start working on this project out of belief that the first step to peace is knowledge: full, unbiased and comprehensive knowledge.

Nowadays, the conflict of Palestine/Israel is considered one of the most complex issues. Thought to be dating back to thousands of years of struggles between Muslims and Jews. Therefore, it is no surprise that the majority of the world kept neutral to avoid being "on the wrong side".

This reduction couldn't be farther from the truth.

The conflict has nothing to do with religion, it is not complex, and it is solvable.
But, understandably, as it is reduced to idiotic statements like "Jews want to take over the world" or "Muslims hate Jews", no logical solutions seem negotiable.

Please do not be alarmed. If you are Jewish/Muslim/Christian, or even an atheist citizen of the world who isn't connected to the area. This is not an attack on you.

I firmly believe that in order for us to come together, we should learn the real history and not try to cover it. Otherwise we're doomed to repeat it. I just require you remove your bias, your personal interest, your feelings and go with me on this journey.

In this project I'll go over the ancient history of the land called The Levant (Palestine/Israel and parts of Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt), the biblical times of the land and the effects left by empires that rules over (From Babylonian up to Ottoman and British mandates). The creation of the Zionist movement and the Nakba / the creation of Israel in 1948 to modern day.

Four thousand years seem a lot to cover, but trust me it is very simple and interesting.
You can skip the ancient history and go to the creation of the Zionist movement as it is the most relevant to modern day shaping of the region.

Note: the project is still under construction...

Thank you for reading.
I hope this helps you become part of the solution.

Ancient history

This part covers the history of the region from the beginning of time till the fall of the Ottoman empire and the start of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.

The history is very fascinating and rich, it might help understand the sentiments behind the conflict. You can jump directly to modern history if you like.

Modern history

This second part of the project starts in the late 19th century with the rise of Zionism, and continues to world war I and the fall of the Ottoman empire, the rise of the Nazis and world war II.

Modern history is still changing, and many views and details are still uncovering to this day, whoch is why I decided to stop at 1948.
Maybe I will update more once I research all points of views on recent events.
